Membership

There are two categories of ordinary members, performing and non-performing, and the subscription is the same. Generally, a musician becomes a performing member through a recommendation from a fellow musician or a committee member, or they have satisfied the committee of their standard of performance.

There are also categories of Honorary Members and Life Members. These honours are awarded at an AGM on the recommendation of the committee.

Subscriptions for 2024 are:

• Double $50
• Single $30

Door Charges for 2023 are:

• Visitors by Koha ($5+ recommended)
• School Students Free

Subscription and door charges contribute to the cost of running Musica Viva.

Other revenue sources include income from the hireage of its piano, which contributes to the maintenance costs of the instruments; and holdings which support the Piano Replacement Fund and the Young Performers’ Scholarship.

Musica Viva Manawatu makes no payment to its officers and members for volunteer services provided.
